His feathers were hard to contain when the boy bird first spotted the girl bird for they shot up in every direction.

The girl bird gigled and pretended not to notice.

He pulled from his pocket the glimmering stone he found in the feeder.

She was blinded by his frankness and accepted his hand as they rode off into migration.
